MITRE/CAASD provides the FAA with highly developed technical capabilities
in operations research; computer science; electronic and systems engineering;
and in-depth domain knowledge in behavioral science, human performance
and air traffic management (ATM) relevant to the National Airspace Sysstem
(NAS). In addition, MITRE/CAASD provides highly specialized simulation
and computer modeling capabilities and facilities to model improvements
across a broad spectrum of NAS systems and operations.
These services
are the critical link between the existing and future air traffic
control (ATC) systems and support the FAA's development and
assessment of rapidly evolving technologies ad in formulating new programs
to meet
operational needs.
