Capability List > Passive Final
Approach Spacing Tool (pFAST)
This capability is planned for introduction in Free
Flight Phase 1 (FFP1) and wider distribution in Free
Flight Phase 2 (FFP2). Further enhancements beyond
FFP2 have yet to be determined. Note that the Automated Radar Terminal
System (ARTS) processing is responsible for putting the delay advisory
into the flight's data block and that controllers are responsible for
determining when and how to implement the landing sequence and delay needed
(see associated issue).
To see other capabilities that use an information element, look up that
information element alphabetically by name.
Additional information on pFAST's functions is available from the FAA's
Free Flight Phase 1 (FFP1) program office website and the NASA
Ames Research Center website, within the CTAS project description. Top of Page
